Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge Vielles Vignes single-varietal Grenache Quartier Pignan

Aromatic and Taste Profile

Nose

The first nose is generous and complex, revealing aromas of ripe red fruit: morello cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry. Subtle notes of black fruits such as plum and blackcurrant are added, along with floral touches of rose and violet. Aging in old Burgundy barrels for 18 months adds a light woody touch, with nuances of blond tobacco, cocoa and a hint of vanilla.

Mouth

On the palate, this wine shows great elegance, with a silky texture and beautiful depth. The Grenache expresses itself fully, offering voluptuous roundness and remarkable concentration. The tannins are fine, mellow and very well integrated, underlining the sweetness and richness of the fruit. Notes of red fruit dominate, accompanied by the spicy, peppery nuances typical of Grenache, as well as light woody touches brought about by ageing in Burgundy barrels.

Final

The finish is long, marked by freshness and a discreet minerality that balances the wine's richness. Red fruit aromas and spicy notes linger pleasantly, leaving an impression of finesse and harmony. This wine has remarkable ageing potential, with the promise of evolving towards more tertiary aromas of leather and undergrowth over time.
