Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge Vielles Vignes Terroir Limestone

Aromatic and Taste Profile

Nose

On the first nose, intense aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry and raspberry come to the fore, followed by deeper notes of black fruits such as blackberry and plum. A floral touch, evoking violets and peonies, mingles with spicy nuances of black pepper, licorice and subtle notes of garrigue, typical of the Provencal terroir.

Mouth

On the palate, this wine reveals a silky texture and fine concentration. Grenache, in the majority, contributes roundness and softness, while Syrah and Mourvèdre add structure and complexity, with fine, well-integrated tannins. Cinsault contributes finesse and suppleness, while Muscardin, a Vaucluse grape variety, adds a touch of acidity and freshness. We chose to age the wine for 18 months in old barrels to refine the tannins and add subtle notes of vanilla and cocoa, without overpowering the fruity aromas.

Final

The finish is long and persistent, marked by a pleasant sensation of minerality and slightly spicy notes. The limestone of the terroir leaves an impression of freshness and balance, promising good ageing potential.
